30/01 Thursday. Class 8

Hello!
Today we have been revising the verb "to be" and practised asking questions:

What was Tania´s day to remember?
Where was she?
When was she there?
Who was Pascal at the football match with?
Why was he so happy?

Practise the questions with this links - Link 1, Link 2 and Link 3.

We aslo started talking about Regular and Irregular verbs in Past Simple.
  • Regular verbs are formed with the help of -ed/-d ending:
like - liked
start - started
  • Verbs with consonant + Y change into -ied:
study - studied
  • Verbs with vowel + Y take only -ed ending:
play - played
  • Verbs with a stressed vowel between two consonants double the last consonant:
stop - stopped
  • Verbs ending in "L" double the "LL":
travel - travelled

Practise the spelling with the on-line exercises:

It´s very important to pronounce the regular verbs correctly.
Watch the pronunciation video and practise saying the verbs (try to repeat them aloud).

We also started some irregular verbs:
come - came, get - got, have - had, go - went, leave - left, take - took etc.

Find the list of irregular verbs in your Aula Virtual. Here´s one more list with transcription - Irregular Verbs List.

Your homework is to learn the verbs, to do the exercise filling the missing verbs in, to read the next text and do exercise 3 p.72.
