25-27/03 Tuesday-Thursday. Classes 23-24

Hello

I decided to join two blog entry in one to save some time. As they both are related to thhe same topic.

So, we were talking about expressing future. We´ve been practising to predict far future and our opinion using Future Simple:

I think in 2050 people will have flying cars.
I believe this football team will win.

We were trying "to see" the future of our partners:
I think Maria will travel abroad next year.
I think she´ll get married. etc

Also we learnt a new form of expressing future "to be going to". We use when we´re talking about our plans or intentions for future:
What are you going to do next weekend?
I´m going to watch a film at home.

Practise it with the links:
Link 1
Link 2

We revised the use of the verbs "go, do and play" with different sports.
We use "go" with -ing nouns (to go swimming).
We use "play" for team or competititve sports (to play football).
We use "do" for the rest (to do yoga).

Practise here.

Your homework is to do the exercises in your copies.

22/03 Thursday. Class 22

Hello

Today we´ve learnt a lot of new adjectives which we can use to make comparisons (challenging, dangerous, delicious, crowded, easy, difficult, expensive, popular, exciting) etc.

What is the most popular place in your city?
What is the most dangerous animal?
What is the most expensive neighbourhood in your city? etc.

If you want to practise more check these links:
Link 1
Link 2

Here´s a link for listening exercises - choose one link you like most, listen to it and tell in the class what it is about. All the links have a superlative adjective "the most ...".
Listening

We also started a new topic "Future Life". What will life in future be like?
We read a an interview with a writer of fantastic books and learnt some words:
air cars, nutrition pills, space station vacations, smart fridge etc.

Here we´re talking about future and for that we need to use Future Simple.
We form it with the help of the verb "will" + Infinitive:

I will (I´ll) have a car in 10 years.

You will (you´ll)
he/she/it will (he´ll/she´ll/it´ll)
we will (we´ll)
you will (you´ll)
they will (they´ll)

Visit this page and do the exercises with Future Simple.

Your homework is to study Future Simple in your copies, to find the examples of future in the text and to make your own predicitons for future.

Also we learnt some useful expressions while giving your opinion:
I think ...
What do you think?
I agree/disagree ...
In my opinion, ...
It´s not true ...

What do you think is better - an iphone or a blackberry?
I think an iphone is better, because it has more options and it´s more practical.
I disagree. In my opinion blackberry is more useful and also it´s cheaper.

We read a text about New York and its places of interest. What would you like to do/see in NY?
I´d like to take a ride in a ferry.
I´d like to walk in the Central Park.
I´d like to go shopping.

Your homework is to do the exercises in the copies.
